Microbiomics
With a focus on host-microbe interactions we enable our clients in the microbiome field to start interpretating data from their in-house experiments and couple these with knowledge from scientific literature.
We provide a first starting point such as an interactive, searchable database tailored for the client’s needs or a searchable Microbiome report that shows the most relevant relations and statements and suggests abstracts of articles for the user to read.
On top of this we provide expert driven consultancy on these data sets leading to insights on functionalities in health and disease. This may lead to new potential biomarkers.
Examples are:
Microbiome reports
This report shows the relations between a disease of interest (eg. Type 2 Diabetes) and most relevant metabolites, pathways and bacteria that play a role in the gut. Relations to diseases and other, relevant pathways can be explored further.

Strain Metabolic Prediction Viewer (SMP Viewer):
The SMP Viewers contain bacterial species names of interest with concise Microbiome reports per each individual species (eg. L. plantarum) as well as the relations to the members of TenWise’s BioSets made suitable for the microbiome.
The precompiled filters that we call BioSets to these 200 million relations yielding only the relevant ones that are characterized and visualised in many ways: eg. by the number of abstracts in which they are described, a statistical score that indicates the likely importance of this relation or the extraction of sentences in which the relevant relations are described. These filters are developed by experts with relevant domain knowledge.
