Multi-omics

Next to dedicated microbiomics and transcriptomics services we aim to integrate multiple Omics-data sets in order to make sense of biology. An example is the data analytical capabilities we have developed for (glyco)proteomics and glyco-protein analyses as described below.

GLYSEC –The Glyco-Immunology Service Center

An Eurostars project with Immundnz and GlycoMScan. Human in vitro immunology assays are integrated with glycopeptide, bioinformatics and text mining analyses into a scalable workflow for novel drug target discovery and optimisation of personalised medicines based on functional glyco-immunology profiling. About: (Glyco)proteomics – Glyco-protein analyses

O-glycopeptides and N-glycopeptides identification is done using Metamorpheus software for which TenWise has dedicated scripts to perform analyses. The software links MS spectra to glyco- and proteomics databases. As a result, an overview of peptides with modifications is obtained, targeted on glycosylation modifications, together with site-specific location of the glycan structure. Glycoproteomic data are increasingly being combined with data from other omic methods such as transcriptomics, proteomics, glycomics, phosphoproteomics and metabolomics to better understand the connection between site-specific glycosylation and the various biological processes that take place in complex systems. As part of the GLYSEC service offering we focus on proteomics data analyses and on N-glycoproteomics.
